Abstract:
A communication apparatus which rapidly learns the directivity of an antenna that is to be used in millimeter wave communication.  The communication apparatus is provided with a first wireless communication unit able to wirelessly communicate according to a first communication scheme, and a second wireless communication unit able to wirelessly communicate according to a second communication scheme using a higher frequency band than the first communication scheme.  When an instruction signal instructing learning of the directivity of a beam is received, the first wireless communication unit determines the time to begin reception of the signal for beam learning based on the instruction signal.  The second wireless communication unit starts reception of the signal for beam learning from the time point of reception determined by the first wireless communication unit and determines a parameter value for specifying the optimal beam pattern based on the reception signal for beam learning.
