Abstract:
A communication apparatus (20) transmits, from a transmission port (60), frames received at a reception port (60). A first detection unit (68) detects a link-up at the transmission port (60). If a link-up has been detected, a second detection unit (70) detects whether an overflow is about to occur in a transmission buffer (66) accumulating the frames to be transmitted by the transmission port (60). If it has been detected that an overflow is about to occur, a control unit (72) executes flow control via the reception port (60) when no transmission failure is detected at the transmission port (60), and does not execute the flow control via the reception port (60) when a transmission failure is detected at the transmission port (60).
