Abstract:
The packet forwarding in accordance with a road line shape can be performed without using any road line shape information, while unnecessary packet forwarding can be suppressed. A communication apparatus comprises: a positional information acquiring unit that acquires information indicating both the current position of the communication apparatus and the traveling direction of the vehicle unit; a receiving unit that receives, from a transmission source, a packet including forwarding information indicating both the position of the transmission source and the position of the transmission destination; a communication control unit that suppresses the packet forwarding if the current position is not within a range from the position of the transmission source to the position of the transmission destination; an information processing unit that, if the current position is within the range, extracts, as a corrected position, a position, which is determined by the traveling direction, out of the positions remote from the current position by the remaining distance between the position of the transmission destination and the current position; and a transmitting unit that transmits a packet including the forwarding information in which the position of the transmission destination has been changed to the corrected position and the position of the transmission source has been changed to the current position.
