Abstract:
Provided are a communication authentication apparatus and a communication system that are capable of performing authentication for easily and safely connecting a communication device to an access point and that are capable of improving convenience and safety by appropriately controlling communication with the communication device. A communication authentication apparatus (10) performs authentication for connecting a communication device (20) to an access point (40) of a wireless LAN, and comprises: an NFC unit (12) having a function of performing authentication by performing communication using NFC with the communication device (20) as a result of being near to or in contact with the communication device (20); and a power circuit (13). When the power circuit (13) is in a complete power-off state or a power-saving state, the communication authentication apparatus (10) controls the power circuit (13) to activate from the complete power-off state or the power-saving state after the NFC unit (12) performs communication with the communication device (20).
