Abstract:
A communication device 100 comprises: a communication unit 140 that performs wireless communications; and a control unit 120 that switches the communication unit 140 to an activated state when a data communication with a server is to be started by the communication unit 140, and switches the communication unit 140 to a sleep state when the data communication is completed. The communication unit 140 confirms the presence/absence of a firmware update for the communication unit 140 during the data communication, and notifies the control unit 120 if there is a firmware update. Upon being notified by the communication unit 140 that there is a firmware update, the control unit 120 keeps the communication unit 140 in the activated state even after the data communication is completed.
