Abstract:
This technology relates to a communication device and method with which a reduction in communication characteristics can be inhibited, an antenna device, and a communication system. In this communication device, which performs wireless communication via an antenna element, a coupling antenna element positioned in the vicinity of the communication device is detected, impedance matching is controlled on the basis of the detection result of the coupling antenna element, impedance matching is performed on the basis of said control, and wireless communication is performed via the antenna element which has been subjected to the impedance matching. Furthermore, in this antenna device, an antenna element is excited by a wireless signal of a communication device positioned in the vicinity of the antenna element, and the communication device is notified of being positioned in the vicinity of the antenna element. The present invention is applicable to transmission devices, reception devices, transmission/reception devices, communication devices, electronic devices, computers, programs, storage media, systems, and the like.
