Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a communication device, a communication method, a program, and a communication system with which it is possible to communicate more accurately. A master is provided with: a transmission unit for transmitting data to a slave in word units in which two bytes of data are included per word; and a confirmation unit for confirming the data transmitted to the slave, and including, in a signal transferred to the slave, notification information required for the recognition of the presence or absence of a word having invalid data. The slave is provided with: a reception unit for receiving the data transmitted from the master in word units; and a recognition unit for preventing that a process based on the invalid data is performed when a received word is recognized as having the invalid data, in accordance with the notification information included in the signal transferred from the master. For example, invalid data included in a word that is recognized as having invalid data is masked on the basis of a result in which the notification information is confirmed. The present invention is applicable, for example, to a bus interface for conducting communication according to the I3C protocol.
