This communication device (310) is provided with an antenna unit (111) for transmitting and receiving radio waves, a scatterer (112) which reflects the radio waves, a communication unit (113) which performs wireless communication with a first peer device (120) via the antenna unit (111), and a scatterer control unit (114) which varies the state of the scatterer (112) if the communication unit (113) is unable to communicate with the first peer device (120).
