Abstract:
The present technology pertains to a communication device and a communication method with which it is possible to more reliably confirm the receipt of data. Provided is a communication device comprising a control unit which, when performing cooperative transmission for simultaneously transmitting data from a plurality of transmission-side communication devices 1 to one reception-side communication device, exercises control on transmitting data to the reception-side communication device, generating a request signal that includes cooperative transmission information relating to the cooperative transmission and acknowledgement return information for simultaneously returning the acknowledgement of cooperatively transmitted data to the plurality of transmission-side communication devices, transmitting the generated request signal to the reception-side communication device, and receiving an acknowledgement return signal that includes acknowledgement transmitted from the reception-side communication device having received the request signal. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a wireless LAN system.
