This communication device transmits data via a communication bus. The communication device comprises a processing unit that executes processing. When a beacon signal has been transmitted, the processing unit determines whether one of data items transmitted by the communication device itself and by a plurality of second communication devices via the communication bus in accordance with a predetermined order has been transmitted by a communication device of interest included in the plurality of second communication devices at the timing for transmission of the data by the communication device of interest. Upon determining that the communication device of interest has not transmitted the data, the processing unit changes the order. The data transmitted via the communication bus includes dummy data the transmission destination of which is different from any of the communication devices other than a transmission source among the communication device itself and the plurality of second communication devices.
