Disclosed is a communication device. The communication device comprises a headset interface, a master control circuit, and a switching control circuit connected between the headset interface and the master control circuit. The headset interface is used for connecting to a headset socket of a smart terminal. The master control circuit is used for outputting a control signal to the switching control circuit. The switching control circuit is used for switching conducted channels on the basis of the control signal outputted by the master control circuit to switch between a microphone pin and a ground pin of the headset interface in connecting to a voltage detection terminal of the master control circuit. The master control circuit is also used for correspondingly detecting, on the basis of the conducted channel of the switching control circuit, the voltage on the microphone pin or the ground pin of the headset interface, acquiring the corresponding detected voltage and determining the type of the headset socket on the basis of same, then outputting a load carrier to the microphone pin of the headset socket on the basis of the type of the headset socket, thus implementing communication between the communication device and the smart terminal. The present invention increases the versatility and stability of the communication device.
