Abstract:
Provided in the embodiments of the present application are a communication method, an access network device, and a terminal. The method comprises : a first access network device determines that a terminal is to enter a radio resource control RRC deactivated state, the first access device being a serving access network device of the terminal; the first access network device sends a first message to a second access network device, the first message comprising context of the terminal; and the first access network device sends a second message to the terminal, the second message being used for instructing the terminal to enter an RRC deactivated state. The communication method, the access network device, and the terminal provided in the embodiments of the present application can reduce the time for the terminal to return to an RRC connected state from an RRC deactivated state.
