The present application belongs to the technical field of communications. Disclosed are a communication method and apparatus, and a related device. The communication method in the embodiments of the present application comprises: a first network-side device sending a target duration to a terminal; the first network-side device running a first timer according to the target duration, wherein a target network covers the terminal during the running of the first timer; and the first network-side device performing communication with the terminal on the basis of the first timer.
