Disclosed are a communication method and apparatus for a virtual SIM card, and an electronic device. The communication method is applied to an electronic device, and the electronic device is used for setting a physical SIM card for communication. The communication method comprises: determining whether the electronic device is located in a country or region where a physical SIM card is located; if not, switching a communication mode of the electronic device to a global virtual SIM card communication mode, and connecting to a service terminal via a virtual SIM card of the electronic device; acquiring first package information from the service terminal, and converting the first package information into second package information according to a pre-set conversion table. In the above manner, according to the present invention, a user leaving the country does not need to purchase and activate virtual SIM cards multiple times, so the operations of a user leaving the country can be reduced, and high communication costs can be avoided.
