Abstract:
Disclosed in the present application are a communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: a terminal device receiving association relationship information between a downlink beam and an uplink beam sent by a network device; upon detection of a beam failure, determining an available downlink beam; according to the association relationship information between the downlink beam and the uplink beam, determining the uplink beam corresponding to the available downlink beam; and sending, according to the determined uplink beam, a beam failure recovery request to the network device. Further disclosed is a corresponding apparatus. The terminal device receives the association relationship information between the downlink beam and the uplink beam sent by the network device, and when a beam failure occurs, sends, according to the uplink beam corresponding to the available downlink beam, a beam failure recovery request to the network device, so that the network device can accurately receive the beam failure recovery request, thereby improving the efficiency of beam failure recovery.
