Abstract:
Provided by the present application are a communication method and apparatus, relating to the technical field of wireless communications, and used for reducing the power consumption of a user equipment (UE). In the method, a terminal device can receive, from an access network device, configuration information of a reference signal configured for the terminal device and region information; the terminal device can, in said region, send a reference signal according to the reference signal configuration information. On the basis of the described solution, the terminal device can send a reference signal in a region according to reference signal configuration information, avoiding the for an access network to reconfigure the reference signal each time the terminal device moves to a new cell, reducing the energy consumption of the terminal device.
