Abstract:
A communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: a terminal device obtaining first resource information on the basis of a preset rule or from a network device, the first resource information comprising at least one of frequency domain location information, a cyclic prefix, or a subcarrier spacing; and receiving a broadcast multicast service according to the first resource information when the terminal device is in a radio access control RRC idle state or an RRC inactive state. By using the method, it can be determined that the terminal device receives a resource of the broadcast multicast service in the RRC idle state or the RRC inactive state, such that the terminal device receives the broadcast multicast service in the RRC idle state or the RRC inactive state.
