Abstract:
The present application provides a communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: obtaining first information from a first core network device, the first information being used for requesting to enable a first terminal device to join a multicast service session corresponding to a first multicast service; and when a first condition is met, enabling the first terminal device to join a multicast service session corresponding to a second multicast service, wherein the first condition comprises: the first multicast service and the second multicast service being the same multicast service, and the second multicast service being provided by a second core network device. By enabling the first terminal device to join the multicast service session corresponding to the second multicast service, related resources of the established second multicast service may be used, and at the same time, service data of the second multicast service is provided to terminal devices in two networks, thereby achieving sharing the same NG resource and air interface resource for the same multicast service from two core networks, saving resources, and improving data transmission efficiency.
