Abstract:
Embodiments of the present application provide a communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: an SMF receives a first PDU session request from a first terminal device and a second PDU session request from a second terminal device, wherein the first PDU session request and the second PDU session request carry the same redundant transmission configuration information; the SMF transmits, to a UPF, a first PDU session context creation request and a second PDU session context creation request, wherein the first PDU session context creation request and the second PDU session context creation request carry the redundant transmission configuration information; and the SMF receives a first response message and a second response message from the UPF, wherein the first response message carries the PDU session identifier of the first terminal device, and the second response message carries the PDU session identifier of the second terminal device. On the basis of the method and the apparatus, the redundant transmission of a device can be realized under the condition that the terminal device is decoupled with a subscribed user.
