Abstract:
A communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: a terminal device receiving a first synchronization signal and PBCH block (SSB) from a network device, wherein the first SSB is used for indicating that the current network is in a coverage enhancement mode; then, the terminal device determining a target resource for first system information according to the first SSB; and finally, the terminal device receiving the first system information from the network device according to the target resource. By means of the method, in a network coverage enhancement mode, the transmission of a plurality of repeated SSBs can be supported, and the number of SIB1 to be transmitted can also be reduced, such that the overheads of the system are reduced.
