Embodiments of the present application provide a communication method and a communication apparatus, which are used for improving WLAN communication efficiency. In the method, an AP sends first indication information, the first indication information being used for indicating first RUs of an STA; the AP sends second indication information, the second indication information being used for indicating whether the STA is allowed to send a PPDU on the basis of a part of the RUs among the first RUs, and, when the second indication information indicates that the STA is allowed to send the PPDU on the basis of a part of the RUs among the first RUs, the PPDU comprising an LDPC extra symbol fragment; and the AP receives a first PPDU, second RUs occupied by the first PPDU being a part of the RUs among the first RUs, and the first PPDU comprising an LDPC extra symbol fragment.
