Abstract:
The present application provides a communication method and a communication apparatus. The method comprises: a session management network element acquiring first information of a first terminal device, wherein the first information comprises the usage amount of a first data stream of the first terminal device offloaded to a second user plane function network element by a first user plane function network element, the first user plane function network element is used for offloading a data stream of a terminal device in a first region, the first region is a subscription place of a private network subscribed to by the first terminal device, and the second user plane function network element is used for transmitting user plane data between the first terminal device and a data network; and the session management network element sending a first charging request message to a charging function network element, wherein the first charging request message comprises first identification information and the first information, the first identification information being used for associating the first area. By sending identification information associated with a first area and the usage amount of a first data stream to a charging management network element, traffic-free charging of the first data stream can be realized.
