Abstract:
The embodiments of the invention disclose a communication method and device. The method comprises: a base station transmits a first synchronization signal block comprising a primary synchronization signal, a secondary synchronization signal, and information carried in a physical broadcast channel; and the base station transmits a second synchronization signal block comprising the primary synchronization signal and the secondary synchronization signal, and not comprising the information carried in the physical broadcast channel. The first synchronization signal is used by the terminal to access the base station. The second synchronization signal is used to perform a timing and frequency synchronization after the terminal accesses the base station. As a result, the second synchronization signal does not include the information carried in the physical broadcast channel. Employing the second synchronization signal to perform the timing and frequency synchronization can reduce wastage in timing and frequency resources.
