Abstract:
Provided are communication methods and communication apparatuses. A method comprises: a terminal device receives first information sent by a network device, the first information being used for indicating whether a reduced capability (RedCap) terminal device having a first bandwidth capability is allowed to select or reselect a cell corresponding to the network device; and the terminal device determines, according to the first information, whether to select or reselect the cell. In the embodiments of the present application, access control for a RedCap terminal device having a specific bandwidth capability can be performed, thus realizing finer access control, improving the utilization rate of network resources, and avoiding network congestion and network throughput reduction.
