Abstract:
This communication network management system is equipped with a communication network which contains multiple nodes and multiple links that interconnect the multiple nodes; and a management calculator which manages the communication network. The management calculator is equipped with: a storage means which stores route information which indicates transmission routes for frames in the communication network; and a monitoring means that transmits and receives frames with respect to the communication network based on the route information. The monitoring means transmits frames on the transmission routes. When each of the multiple nodes receives a frame, said node forwards the received frame on a transmission route and returns a reply to the management calculator. Based on the reception status of the replies from the multiple nodes, the monitoring means specifies a location where an obstruction occurs in the transmission route.
