Abstract:
This invention is directed to the reduction of calculation cost in a path re-calculation that is performed by a control apparatus when a switch is halted. A control apparatus comprises: a switch extracting unit operative to extract a second switch adjacent to a first switch that halts in a communication system including a plurality of switches having a given topology; a flow extracting unit operative to extract, from among a plurality of flows passing through the communication system, a flow that is to be transferred to the first switch subsequently to the second switch; a path deciding unit operative to decide, based on the topology excluding the first switch, a path from the second switch to a fourth switch when a third switch and the fourth switch are located at the starting and terminating points of that flow, respectively; and a path generating unit operative to generate a new path for that flow by connecting the path decided by the path deciding unit to the path from the third switch to the second switch in the original path for that flow.
