Abstract:
In the present invention, a communication system comprises: a communicator that is mounted to a traffic signal and is capable of executing software; a traffic information acquiring means that acquires traffic information about the surroundings of the traffic signal, or an intersection at which the traffic signal is provided; and a determination means that determines, on the basis of the traffic information, a timing at which to update the software, wherein the communicator performs the update of the software at said timing.
