Abstract:
The present invention helps to enhance the fault tolerance of and distribute the load of a controller when a virtual network is constructed using a centralized-control-type network. A communication system includes: a switch; a plurality of controllers for setting control information in the switch; and a host controller provided with a network management unit for managing information about a plurality of virtual networks logically divided using the switch, and a controller management unit for assigning, to each of the virtual network s, a controller for controlling the virtual network from among the plurality of controllers, and supplying, to the assigned controller, information about the virtual network to be controlled by the controller.
