Abstract:
The disclosed communication system, method, and device obviate the need to prepare new terminals, convert existing terminals, or the like for a newly introduced service or the like. A server device (110) is connected to a plurality of handheld terminals (170_1, 170_N) via a packet forwarding device (for example, an xGSN (190)) on a mobile network (150). For each handheld terminal, the server device receives instruction information from said handheld terminal via the packet forwarding device, acquires content on the basis of said instruction information, decodes image data in the acquired content, captures some or all of the decoded screens at a predetermined resolution, and compresses the captured image data using a predetermined compression scheme. The server device also determines whether or not an audio signal in the aforementioned content is compressed using a predetermined compression scheme; if not, said audio signal is decompressed and then recompressed using the predetermined encoding scheme, and if so, the process of decompressing and recompressing the audio signal is skipped. The server device then packetizes the compressed image data and audio signal and delivers said packets to the packet forwarding device. The handheld terminal receives said packets via the packet forwarding device on the mobile network, decompresses and displays the compressed image data in said packets, and decompresses and plays the compressed audio signal.
