Abstract:
A communication system and method using a large intelligent surface (LIS) are provided. The method may comprise: an operation of transmitting, by means of a terminal, preamble signals by changing transmission time and transmission direction; an operation of determining, by means of a large intelligent surface server, a reference angle of incidence for at least one preamble signal by receiving at least one preamble signal from among the preamble signals through the large intelligent surface that receives and reflects incident radio waves; an operation of receiving, by means of a base station, the preamble signals transmitted through multiple paths from a terminal; an operation of transmitting, by means of the base station, identification information of a preamble signal having the greatest received power among the received preamble signals to the large intelligent surface server; and an operation of, if a preamble signal corresponding to the identification information received from the base station exists among the at least one preamble signal, controlling, by means of the large intelligent surface server, the large intelligent surface such that a reflection angle at which a data service signal transmitted from the base station is reflected by the large intelligent surface corresponds to a reference angle of incidence that is determined with respect to the preamble signal of the identification information.
