Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to make it possible to cause a switching hub to perform transfer control that corresponds to the priority level of data communication executed by each communication terminal, while reducing the laboriousness of setting operations. A control frame that sends a query about the priority level of data communication performed by each communication terminal is multicast to communication terminals included in a subordinate network from a router for connecting a network that includes a plurality of switching hubs to another network. Triggered by the reception of a respondent frame in which priority-level data that indicates the priority level is written, the router performs a process to provide an instruction indicating that the frame is to be transferred in a mode that corresponds to the priority level indicated by the priority-level data for each of the switching hubs on a communication pathway leading to the communication terminal from which the frame is to be sent. At the same time, each of the switching hubs is made to execute a process to switch the mode for controlling the transfer of the frame in accordance with an instruction provided by the router.
