Provided is a wireless communication technology exhibiting high reliability, high transmission rate, and low power consumption. This communication system is provided with a communication terminal and a base station. The base station has a plurality of transmission/reception devices configured to be wirelessly communicable with the communication terminal, and is configured to wirelessly communicate with the communication terminal by using some or all of the transmission/reception devices. The communication terminal receives a downlink synchronization signal (SSB) from at least one first transmission/reception device to be newly connected (step ST1428), and establishes downlink synchronization with said at least one first transmission/reception device by using the downlink synchronous signal (step ST1429). The communication terminal establishes uplink synchronization with the at least one first transmission/reception device through a random access process (steps ST1430, ST1431, ST1435, ST1436).
