Abstract:
The present invention provides a communication system which enables a vehicle-mounted communication device mounted in a vehicle to acquire update information of a system configuration relating to the issuance of certificate information, and a vehicle-mounted communication device included in this communication system.
A vehicle-mounted communication device mounted in a vehicle acquires update information related to the increase or decrease of a system configuration of a certificate information issuance system from an update information delivery server device via a road-side communication device installed on a road. When becoming communicable with the road-side communication device, the vehicle-mounted communication device acquires function list information from the road-side communication device, and determines whether or not this road-side communication device has a relay function. The vehicle-mounted communication device acquires the update information from the update information delivery server device periodically at predetermined intervals, for example, every day, every week or every month.
