Abstract:
A communication system is provided with a transmitter (1) for applying an electric field obtained by modulating an information signal for broadband communication to a transmission medium, and is characterized in that the transmitter (1) comprises a transmitting electrode (11), a transmitting circuit (13) for outputting the information signal for broadband communication, and a band control means (12) for controlling the band of the information signal for broadband communication, and the band control means (12) controls the band to a band required to modulate the broadband communication in a receiver (3) when the transmission medium (2) is in contact with the transmitting electrode (11) and the transmission medium (2) and the transmitting electrode (11) are capacitively coupled, and controls the band to a band narrower than the band required to modulate the broadband communication in the receiver (3) when the transmission medium (2) is not in contact with the transmitting electrode (11).
