Abstract:
A communication terminal (1) comprises: a cellular communication unit (3) for performing cellular communication with a base station (7); a position information acquisition unit (2c) for acquiring position information that indicates the current position of the terminal; a position information transmission unit (2d) for causing the position information to be transmitted; a nearby base station information acquisition unit (2e) for acquiring nearby base station information that indicates a nearby base station located in the vicinity of the terminal; a reception level measurement unit (2f) for measuring the reception level of a radio wave of a base station by a prescribed algorithm on a prescribed cycle according to 3GPP standards, and creating a list in decreasing order of reception level; and a connection control unit (2g) for selecting any one of the base stations as a connection target and attempting a connection. The connection control unit selects a base station the radio wave reception level of which is highest as a connection target and attempts a connection, and when this connection fails, excludes the base station with which connection has failed from connection candidates and selects a base station from among the nearby base stations in order of closeness from the current position of the terminal as a connection target and attempts a connection.
