Abstract:
The invention relates to a commutator (52) for contacting an armature winding (49) of an armature (37) of an electric machine, comprising commutator bars (55) arranged in a peripheral direction, the commutator bars (55) having a groove (318) that is open in an axial direction at least on an axial end (309), said groove being delimited by limbs (321, 324), a reinforcing ring (327) being arranged in the grooves (318), characterized in that the radial limbs (321) arranged on the inside has an axial undercut in the axial direction, so that the reinforcing ring (327) is secured in the position thereof. The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing a commutator, commutator bars (55) being first supplied and arranged in such a way that they are arranged in a cylindrical fashion in a peripheral direction and subsequently a reinforcing ring (318) is inserted in a groove (318) between a radially inner limb (312) and a radially outer limb (324), characterized in that, after insertion of the reinforcing ring (318), the radially inner limb (312) is split and a radially outer partial limb (333) of the inner limb (312) is bent radially outward.
