Description

COMPACT CASE

Technical Field

[I] The present invention relates to a compact case, more particularly, to a compact case having a rotation hinge for jointing element compact cases, of which each element compact case has a cover to protect contents contained therein in the manner of hinge connection and constitutes a unit to itself.

Background Art [2] Generally a compact case is used as a case for cosmetics, for example a compact, an eye-shadow, etc. The compact case has a main body which includes a plate for containing cosmetics and a puff holder for holding a puff and a cover which is installed to the main body by a hinge and has a mirror inside. [3] The structure that a cover is installed to a main body by a hinge has been a basic structure of a compact case since cosmetics had developed. Various designs have been made only for satisfying various demand of customer. [4] Although new design through modification has been made to satisfy various demand of customer, there is an inevitable limitation in modification for the structure described above. [5] Thus, restrictive modification of shape or color of an outer case only, rather than structural improvement, has been made. However life time of a product cannot be continued long because there is a limitation in satisfying various demands of customer through mere modification of shape or color of the outer case. [6] Further because life time is short, the consumer's price must go up due to the increase of developing cost and man-power.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention [27] In a compact case having a main case where a plate for containing cosmetics is provided and a cover which is covered or discovered against the main case, the compact case according to the present invention includes: [28] element compact cases of which each element compact case includes the main case

and the cover; and a rotation hinge for jointing the element compact cases,

[29] wherein settling grooves, where the rotation hinge moves, are provided at hinge blocks of the covers of the element compact cases, which are installed to the main cases in the manner of hinge connection respectively; the settling grooves are opened in the direction of the axis and penetrated upward and downward; and the rotation hinge is placed at the settling grooves through hinge axes which penetrate the main cases and hinge blocks of the covers respectively,

[30] thereby the element compact cases can be layered each other.

Mode for the Invention

[31] Reference will now be made in detail to the embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein like reference numerals refer to the like elements throughout. The embodiments are described below to explain the present invention by referring to the figures. For the sake of clearness and concision, technology related to the present invention that is not novel and is well known in the art to which present invention pertains will not be described herein.

[32] The compact case according to the present invention includes element compact cases 10 and 20 and a rotation hinge 30 which joints the element compact cases 10 and 20. The element compact cases 10 and 20 include main cases 11 and 21 and covers 12 and 22, respectively.

[33] Each of the element compact cases 10 and 20 constitutes is a unit element to it self.

Main cases 11 and 21 contain content and make-up instruments. Cover 12 and 22 having each of hinge blocks 12b and 22b are installed through hinge axes 40 and 40a, of which each penetrate main cases 10 and 20 respectively,

[34] Installing grooves 12c and 22c, where the rotation hinge 30 is installed, are provided at the hinge blocks 12b and 22b of the covers 12 and 22.

[35] The installing grooves 12c and 22c are opened in the direction of the axis and penetrated upward and downward in order that the rotation hinge 30 can be rotated.

[36] Settling grooves 1 Ic and 21c are provided at the bottom sides of the main cases 11 and 21 and settling protruders 12a and 22a, which corresponds to the settling grooves l ie and 21c respectively, are provided at the top sides of the covers 12 and 22 so that the element compact cases 10 and 20 are settled stably when they are layered.

[37] By the settling groove 1 Ic and 21c at the bottom sides of the main cases 11 and 21 and settling protruders 12a and 22a, the element compact cases 10 and 20 can be kept stably when they are jointed and layered by the rotation hinge 30.

[38] Both ends of the rotation hinge 30 which is installed at the settling grooves 12c and

22c are shaped to be curved so that the rotation hinge 30 can rotate at the settling

grooves 12c and 22c. Axial slits (not shown in drawings) are provided at the rotation hinge 30 at the regular interval so that hinge axes 40 and 40a, which penetrates the main cases 11 and 21 and hinge blocks 12b and 22b of the covers 12 and 22 respectively, can penetrate the rotation hinge 30. [39] The depth of the rotation hinge 30 is as same as the depth of the settling grooves

12c and 22c of the hinge blocks 12b and 22b. [40] The element compact cases 10 and 20, which are unit elements to itself and jointed together by the rotation hinge 30, are placed to be layered up and down as shown in

Fig. 1. [41] The layered element compact cases 10 and 20 can be kept stably because the settling protruder 22a at the top side of the cover 22 is inserted into the settling groove

1 Ic at the bottom side of the main case 11. [42] In this state, user can makeup by using cosmetics contained in the main case 11 when the cover 12 of the element compact case 10, which is placed at the top, is discovered as shown in Fig. 1.

[43] Cosmetics instrument can be used when make-up.

[44] When user wants to make-up by using other cosmetics with other tint after make-up by using cosmetics contained in the main case 11 of the element compact case 10, the cover 12 of the element compact case 10 is covered as shown in Fig. 2. [45] After that, the element compact case 10, which is placed at the top, is rotated by turning over the element compact case 10 stepwise as shown in Fig.3 and Fig.4. [46] As the element compact case 10 is turned over as shown in Fig. 5, the element compact case 10 is rotated at the angle of 360 degree and placed at the bottom of the other element compact case 20 as shown in Fig. 6. [47] Because the element compact case 20, which was placed at the bottom of the element compact case 10, becomes placed at the top of the element compact case 10 as the element compact case 10 is rotated, various make-up can be achieved by using other cosmetics with other tint contained in the element compact case 20. (refer to Fig.

7)

Industrial Applicability [48] The compact case according to the present invention can be carried conveniently.

Further, it can be looked for easily even among other items and it can be used for make-up with cosmetics of various tints.
