Abstract:
The invention relates to a respirator (1) comprising: - a cylinder (2) defining an internal space that accommodates a sealingly slidably mounted piston (3), the piston (3) being capable of moving along a central endless screw (6) axially extending into the cylinder (2), the cylinder (2) comprising an air chamber (33) having a variable volume, the movement of the piston (3) producing a variation in the volume and pressure in the chamber; - a unidirectional valve (5) connected to the outlet of the chamber through which compressed air is expelled due to the movement of the piston (3), the valve (5) being capable of being connected to a mask; - a monitoring and control unit (4) that controls the movement of the piston (3) within the cylinder (2). Said respirator is characterised in that the inner section of the cylinder (2) is oval, since the piston (3) is oval.
