Description:
COMPACT WALLET WITH COMPARTMENT FOR CONTAINING COINS AND SMALL ITEMS IN GENERAL Technical field The present invention relates to a compact wallet with a compartment for containing coins and small items in general.

Background art As is known, wallets are commonly provided by means of two wings that can be superimposed one another and are joined at a folding line; if it is necessary to also have a coin purse, solutions have already been provided which have a pocket that can be closed by a suitable flap, but they have not turned out to be practical, because they produce a substantial bulk in the wallet, which causes an additional bulge normally located at the free parts of the wings in order to provide the usual folding of the wallet.

In order to solve these problems, a prior patent application by the same Applicant, WO 03/022093, assumed included herein by reference, discloses a wallet that is provided with a coin purse being formed directly on the inner face of one of the wings and having an opening at the folding line of the two wings.

On the wing that lies opposite the one that supports the coin purse detachable coupling means are provided that retain the coin purse when it does not need to be opened.

This solution, which has turned out to be valid in many respects, suffers the drawback of blocking the central part of both wings in the portion equivalent to the width of the coin purse when the coin purse is closed.

This makes it impossible to fully open the compartments formed under the outer cover, which are normally used to contain banknotes, with the need to find space for this content in another position that can be accessed if the wallet is partially closed, and this, in contrast with the advantages of having a coin purse that is directly integrated in the wallet,

constitutes a structural ductility limitation of such wallet.

Disclosure of the invention The aim of the invention is to solve the problem described above, by providing a compact wallet with a compartment for containing coins and small items in general that allows to close the coin purse without thereby limiting the usability of the other spaces.

Within this aim, an object of the invention is to provide a wallet in which it is possible to simplify the entire structure by not requiring particular means to close the coin purse.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a wallet that thanks to its particular constructive characteristics is capable of giving the greatest assurances of reliability and safety in use.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a compact wallet that can be easily obtained starting from commonly commercially available elements and materials and is also competitive from a merely economical standpoint.

This aim and these and other objects that will become better apparent hereinafter are achieved by a compact wallet with a compartment for containing coins and small items in general, according to the invention, which comprises a wallet body that forms a first wing and a second wing, which can be superimposed one another and are joined by a folding line, characterized in that it comprises, on the inner face of at least one of said wings, a container body that is connected to the wing that supports it proximate to its open side, said container body being able to turn over with respect to said wing that supports it in order to pass from the closed position to the open position and/or vice versa.

Brief description of the drawings Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become better apparent from the description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of a compact wallet, illustrated by way of nonlimiting example

with the aid of the accompanying drawings, wherein: Figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of the wallet in the open position, with the container body in the open position; Figure 2 is a schematic perspective view of the wallet according to the invention during the closure of the container body; Figure 3 is a schematic perspective view of the wallet, with its wings open and with the container body closed; Figure 4 is a schematic perspective view of the wallet in the closed position.

Ways of carrying out the invention With reference to the figures, the compact wallet with compartment for containing coins and small items in general, according to the invention, generally designated by the reference numeral 1, comprises a wallet body that forms a first wing 2 and a second wing 3, which are joined by a folding line 4.

In a manner known per se, the wallet can provide a plurality of compartments for containing credit cards and the like and for banknotes, and can further have, in an also manner known per se, internal flaps, designated by the reference numeral 5, which can be superimposed one another.

The wings 2 and 3 can be superimposed one another when the wallet is closed.

The characterizing feature of the invention is constituted by the fact that a container body 10 is provided which preferably has a flat shape and is connected to one of the wings, for example the wing 3 in the illustrated embodiment, proximate to an open side 11 of the container body.

Advantageously, the coupling line is provided proximate to the folding line 4.

The container body can be turned over with respect to the wing 3 that supports it, so that it can easily pass from the closed position to the open

position and/or vice versa.

As shown in the drawings, the container body in the closed position (Figure 3) is laterally adjacent to the flaps 5 and allows to easily open the wallet and to use the other compartments without any hindrance on the part of the container body.

When the container body is to be opened, it is sufficient to turn it over (Figure 1), so that the container body rests on the wing that lies opposite the one to which it is connected, and the opening 11 is thus freed.

Advantageously, at the opening 11 folding containment borders are provided, designated by the reference numeral 15, which in practice delimit a region for containing objects, such as coins, small items and the like, which can be provided inside the container body.

When the container body is turned over onto the other wing, the folding lateral borders or flaps 15 constitute a containment shoulder, which can be collapsed immediately and easily when the container body is folded to close said container, by a rotation through 180° about the region where the container body is connected to the wing that supports it.

In this manner, it is possible to open and close the container body without thereby affecting the free usability of all the compartments of the wallet.

It is optionally possible to provide means for closing the container body, which can be constituted by clips or magnetic studs, designated by the reference numeral 20 in the accompanying drawings, which are provided on one face of the container body 10 and on a corresponding portion of the wing that supports the container body.

It should be added to the above that the spine Sa that constitutes in practice the folding line of the internal flaps 5 constitutes a containment border for the space in front of the container body when it is arranged in the open position.

From what has been described above, it is thus evident that the

invention achieves the intended aim and objects, and in particular the fact is stressed that a compact wallet is provided in which there is a container body that is integrated in a conventional wallet with compartments for containing banknotes, credit cards and so forth, in which the opening and closing of the container body 10 does not affect in any way the usability of the useful spaces of the wallet.

The invention thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims.

All the details may further be replaced with other technically equivalent elements.

In practice, the materials used, so long as they are compatible with the specific use, as well as the contingent shapes and dimensions, may be any according to requirements.
