Abstract:

A carburizing step in which an intermediate item (800) having a redundant section (826) of at least the thickness of a carburized layer subsequently formed in the carburizing step added to a section to be welded (825) is prepared and the carburized layer (88) is formed on the surface thereof; a cooling step in which same is cooled at a cooling speed slower than the cooling speed at which martensitic transformation occurs; a quenching step in which a section to become a carburized-and-quenched section is heated by a high density energy to an austenite region and then cooled at a cooling speed of at least the cooling speed at which martensitic transformation occurs; and a machining step in which the section to be welded (825) is machined so as to form a final desired shape; are performed when producing a first steel component.
