Abstract:
Provided is a practical component feeder which supplies radial components having three leads while cutting the leads. The component feeder is provided with: (a) a feed mechanism which sends tape-formed components in a feed direction in an intermittent manner to a supply position SS at a predetermined feed pitch; (b) a first lead cutting mechanism 138 which, in order to separate a component positioned in the supply position from a carrier tape, cuts two leads Leo positioned on the outside among the three leads of the component, at a location where the two leads extend from a component body by a first length; and (c) a second lead cutting mechanism 230 which, prior to the cutting of the two leads by the first lead cutting mechanism, cuts one centrally positioned lead Lei among the three leads of a component positioned in front of the supply position in the feed direction, at a location of a second length shorter than the first length.
