Abstract:
An aerial boom assembly (210) comprising a first member (214) having a fixed length and comprising first and second ends (216, 218), the second end (218) being pivotally coupled to a mobile base (212). The aerial boom assembly (210) comprises a second member (222) pivotally coupled to the first member (214) at the first end (216), the second member (222) comprising an extension member (224) slidably coupled to the second member (222) along an inner channel (226) of the second member (222). The first and second members (214, 222) are made from a composite material comprising a reinforcement material in a polymeric matrix.
