Abstract:
This composite carbonitride powder comprises: Ti as a main component element; and at least one type of additive element selected from the group consisting of Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Al, and Si. The composite carbonitride powder includes a plurality of composite carbonitride particles including Ti and the additive element(s). The plurality of composite carbonitride particles include a plurality of homogeneous composition particles, wherein the difference between the average concentration of Ti, as well as the average concentration of each additive element, in the entire composite carbonitride powder and the average concentration of Ti, as well as the average concentration of each additive element, in each of the composite carbonitride particles is within a range from -5 at.% to 5 at.% inclusive. The cross-sectional area of the homogeneous composition particles is 90% or greater of the cross-sectional area of the composite carbonitride particles 1p, and the number of the homogeneous composition particles is 90% or greater than the number of the composite carbonitride particles 1p.
