Abstract:
A composite catalyst for removing carbon monoxide which comprises a gold nano-particulate catalyst comprising gold particles having an average particle diameter of 25 nm or less carried on a metal oxide and an alkaline porous material; and a method for removing carbon monoxide using the composite catalyst. The composite catalyst can be used for removing carbon monoxide over a wide range of the concentration of carbon monoxide from a low to a high concentration and is capable of maintaining high activity at an ordinary temperature for a long period of time, and thus can be advantageously used for removing carbon monoxide from a gas in a living space.
