Abstract:
This composite ceramic multilayer substrate comprises: a glass ceramic insulating layer containing a wiring layer; and a high thermal conduction ceramic insulating layer made of a ceramic material with a higher thermal conductivity than the glass ceramic insulating layer. The glass ceramic insulating layer is formed directly and/or via a wiring layer on one main surface of the high thermal conduction ceramic insulating layer or on both main surfaces of the high thermal conduction ceramic insulating layer. The composite ceramic multilayer substrate is characterized in that, when viewed from a direction perpendicular to the main surface thereof, at one or more locations the composite ceramic multilayer substrate includes a heat-generating element mounting section which is surrounded by the glass ceramic insulating layer and at which heat-generating-element mounting wiring formed on the main surface of the high thermal conduction ceramic insulating layer is exposed.
