Title:
COMPOSITE CRANKSHAFT ASSEMBLY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1995/027148
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A crankshaft consisting of three assembled parts, i.e. a first part (1) forming a first shaft (2) and a first web (3), a second part (4) forming a second shaft (5) and a second web (6), and a third part acting as the crankpin (7). The parts are assembled by means of axial locking screws (24-27) when the ends (10, 11) of the crankpin (7) are inserted into blind holes (8, 9) in the webs (3, 6) and centring pegs projecting from the end surfaces of the crankpin (7) are inserted into corresponding holes in the webs (3, 6). The crankshaft may thus be assembled from three separate parts machined separately and easily assembled without centring in a compressor or engine housing. This assembly is useful in internal combustion engines and in compressors and pumps with small-diameter closed connecting rods and single-piece.
