Abstract:
Provided is a composite magnesium hydroxide containing a carbonic acid group and having a high BET specific surface area. Also provided are a method for producing said composite magnesium hydroxide, and an adsorbent. Specifically provided is a composite magnesium hydroxide represented by Mg1-xMx(OH)2-y(CO3)0.5y·mH2O (1) and having a BET specific surface area of 100 to 400 m2/g. (In the formula (1), M represents at least one divalent metal ion selected from among Zn2+, Cu2+, Ni2+, Co2+, Ca2+, Mn2+, Fe2+, and Ba2+, and x, y, and m fulfill the following conditions: 0
