Abstract:
A composite material comprising an organosilicon compound and a carbon nanotube, which, as compared with the conventional carbon nanotube, can significantly improve electric field emission efficiency, and has a great deal of potential in industry as a part for constituting an electric field emission source in an electric field emission-type display, can be produced by a simple production process. A carbon nanotube and an organosilicon compound are placed in and dispersed in a solvent by ultrasonic waves, and the dispersion is filtered, followed by washing and drying. Thus, a composite material comprising an organosilicon compound and a carbon nanotube characterized by exhibiting electric field emission capability at a lower voltage than carbon nanotubes is provided.
