Abstract:
A composite material fastening device 20 which fastens composite materials 11 overlapping each other in a thickness direction is provided with: a pair of heads 21 in which a pin 12 molded by impregnating reinforced fibers with a resin is used and which are provided on both sides in the thickness direction with the composite materials 11 held therebetween; a heating unit 25 which heats and melts the composite materials 11 held by the pair of heads 21; and a pin driving part 28 which is provided in one head 21b and drives the pin 12 in the thickness direction into a melted part of the composite materials 11 melted by the heating unit 25. By driving the pin 12 from one head 21b toward the other head 21a, the pin driving part 28 causes an end on the other side of the pin 12 to be deformed by being brought into contact with the other head 21a, and forms the end on the other side of the deformed pin 12 as an other-side-retaining part 12b.
