Title:
RUBBER−FIBER COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND RUBBER ARTICLE USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2002/094586
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A rubber−fiber composite material having a non−woven fabric and a rubber being coated on the non−woven fabric, characterized in that at least a part of the non−woven fabric comprises an organic fiber having a mono−filament diameter of 10 to 35 μm, a fiber length of 30 to 100 mm, and a modulus of elasticity in tension of 50 GPa or more. The use of the above organic fiber secures satisfactory permeation of the rubber to the inside of the non−woven fabric, which leads to the production of a rubber−fiber composite material exhibiting a great rigidity. The use of the rubber−fiber composite material as a reinforcing material for a rubber article such as a tire or a belt allows the enhancement of the rigidity and the improvement of the durability of the rubber article, and also the weight reduction of the article.
